 Now DJ Jones too?
« Result #1 Yesterday at 9:17pm »

I read on another board DJ Jones had committed, RB from Denison. They straightened out it wasn't Mister Jones being confused but in fact now DJ Jones had committed? Anyone have ground truth on this?

NM

Yep, appears confirmed. And apparently committed for quite a while now. Hmmmm. I figured this meant Fobbs was going to LSU. This is interesting.

I thought Kalvin Guyton was going to be our big back. How is he doing have you heard? I don't think he got playing time this year but I assume it's because we are getting so much good production from Gray and CMike we didn't need to.

I also thought Halverda was going to be one of our bigger backs but I'm getting confused on all of them at the moment.

We recruited him as a RB, but when you watch his film he's very athletic and has the body that would allow him to play several spots

We lost OSU this year (by 5) because - among other plays - we left the ball inside the 1-yard line before halftime without points. And we didn't score inside the Colorado two (a 1 point loss), turning it over on downs.

I think Sherman has wanted a big back for some time now

Yeah he was one of the first DB's we offered. I expect he'll announce at the HS All-American game. He had a good trip as you would expect, but I would imagine it boils down to how the new coaches at ND respond and recruit him up until that point comes.

If decision were coming today I'd feel good about it, but a lot changes in a recruits life in a couple weeks time

I heard this guy's name floated around a week or so ago but had no idea he was that close to committing. And he's from Colorado. I hope he enjoys being away from home. I have a feeling if things don't work out pretty quickly for him he may be one of those that doesn't stick around for long. Then again, he may see coach hawkins as a lame duck and CO as a falling apart program who knows?

Glad we got him. I'd be even more excited if he said he'd play defense as well.

Thus far - yes. I really think Fobbs is a dynamic player and would help us tremendously at the WR position. If I had to guess today, I'd say Big Sherm keeps him. I mean seriously, Lawnboy, where would you rather catch balls during your college career - from a QB who threw for over 3000 yards at A&M this year, or at LSU??

No brainer to me :)

Ags land BIG back from Colorado
« Result #23 on Dec 13, 2009, 8:13pm »

The news first broke over on - Scout (Websider) - but it appears now as if all A&M recruiting websites are reporting the switch of Colorado commit Mister Jones (6'2" 210 RB out of Littleton, Co) to the Aggies after this weekend.

This kid is athletic and BIG and certainly looks the part. I LOVE Sherman's ability to find and recruit athletic kids to this program! A VERY good get for the Aggies!

WHOOP! Welcome to Aggieland, Mister!
